Dear petitioners,

Thank you for signing our petition to restore a community pharmacy to Clifton.

Today, we handed our petition in to City of York Council and to the NHS Integrated Care Board (ICB).

Some of you may be aware, that we received three applications to open a new pharmacy in Clifton. Myself and Cllr Wells wrote a letter of support for one of the applications. As did Rachael Maskell MP and the Director of Public Health at City of York Council.

Shockingly, this month, the ICB rejected all three applications. We do not accept this decision and are urging appeal. We questioned the ICB at a public meeting last week, and will continue to challenge the decision.

Next steps include working with the Council to urge the ICB to reconsider. We are also working with Rachael Maskell MP to challenge the legislation used to justify refusal. And we are working to help produce an impact assessment of the continued lack of pharmacy in Clifton. I will contact you further with details of how you can help us with these next actions.

I'm sorry this hasn't been the outcome we wanted, but assure all of our continued support for and campaigning efforts to restore pharmacy services to Clifton.

With kind regards,
Danny

Cllr Danny Myers
Clifton Ward
