I was recently told that parents wouldn’t sign this petition because it’s too controversial, too confronting to confront social norms of giving ‘phones’, ‘using social media’ at Christmas time and just letting kids ‘do what they want’.. 

This (apathy) is a major barrier to positive social change, but I truly feel the gift of childhood for the first 16 years of one’s life is worth fighting for. It’s also a solution for our education system and society for thousands upon thousands of stressed, anxious teens.

Thank you for continuing to share. Even a small voice of movement in our society is worth listening to.
