We are delighted to inform you all that, after 3 months of waiting for a decision, the petition to name one of the bridges on River View after Barney, Enfield's most famous cat, has been successful!
Head of Enfield's Urban Green Spaces department, Lisa Smart emailed us with the good news yesterday. All that remains now is for us to meet with the Highways Department to sort the details & have the plaque installed.
Thank you to everyone who signed our petition. We couldn't have done it without you.
Very soon, the plaque in memory of Barney will be erected on the railing next to the bridge and will join his image on the Palace Gardens mural and the recently erected piece of art at Enfield Chase station to commemorate this most excellent and characterful cat!
