There are two large-scale projects hanging over our heads right now here on our mountaintop in Tucker County—projects that will have enormous impacts on our environment, quality of life and economy.  

Both of these proposed projects— a four-lane highway possibly cutting through our towns and a gas-fired powered plant within minutes of our homes and school—will take a toll on our lives.  As we play the waiting game, we at Go North decided to focus this month’s newsletter on a subject that is not very popular with our governor in West Virginia and our president in Washington, DC: climate change and the environment.  This newsletter features our Go North Alliance member Rafe Pomerance, an internationally known environmentalist and Pendleton County resident.
