Dear supporters, I am happy to share with you that RJ Malishka has responded to my petition and what a beautiful message it is! Please do check the response. I believe Malishka’s #MainBhi initiative will definitely address what you and I had asked for. As I wrote in my petition, “If people constantly hear about #MeToo we can collectively challenge the social mindset that makes many people treat sexual violence and harassment as normal.” The #MeToo movement has certainly shaken the prevailing silence around sexual harassment in our country. This got people talking and not just talking but to introspect. It is my strong belief that this movement should never die. I am glad that we have such strong voices like hers backing us. I started my petition in the thick of the #MeToo movement in October 2018 . Back then it was a trending topic. But I had this fear that the stories that were coming out, the conversation that was started will all end. You know how trends work, right? But I am glad that even after so many months, we are still talking about it. I am thankful to each and everyone of you, who joined me in saying- We won’t let it go! I thank each one of you who’ve supported my petition. It’s because of you that the #MeToo movement has not lost its voice. My petition has become a victory but I know that this is just the beginning. I believe that one day we will have more strong women like Malishka, and men too, who will come forward and say--we won’t let this movement die. Thank you once again all for your support.
