In India out of 757060 wetlands identified by National Wetlands Inventory Atlas NWIA 2011 only 42 wetlands have been notified and are being protected.

The Save Navi Mumbai Environment Group wants to celebrate 2nd February 2021 as National Persuasion Day where we will persuade State Governments & Central Government to notify the remaining wetlands under Wetlands Rules 2017 to preserve them for future generations.
