While providing a good quality of life and safe infrastructure is important, it is hubris to think that our species is the most important (or only important to some) on earth. We all share this planet, and wildlife and their needs is just as important. Additionally, these natural areas that support our beloved wildlife are necessary to a good quality of life for people.
It sounds like India, along with the rest of the world, is not addressing the core problem: human overpopulation. Until we lower our birthrate and start the human population on a decline, there will be no real improvement in quality of life for all. There are limited jobs and limited resources. And humans have exceeded a proper carrying capacity.
