International Day for Biodiversity: 22 May 2018. The United Nations proclaimed May 22 The International Day for Biological Diversity (IDB) to increase understanding and awareness of biodiversity issues. We are using this day to educate people about biological diversity in the talawe wetlands and Chanakya wetlands area and factors responsible for environment degradation. We want to tell people about government plan to handover 80 hectares of wetlands and mangroves on Prime Palm Beach Road to a private builder endangering the biodiversity of area , inform importance of mangroves and wetlands , warn of consequences like floods like Chennai , Mumbai etc. and urge them to join our fight . We want them to like our FB page , Join our FB group , sign our petition , and spread this message to more and more persons. Members are requested to post pictures of biological diversity in the area on this page .
