It takes hundreds of man hours ,money, efforts and luck to grow mangroves and other trees but it takes one or two machines to destroy in a day. 1. Picture 1 is of the workers engaged in planting mangroves saplings in part of 47 hectares behind NRI Complex on 17th March 2018 . Ironically Cidco has asked for change in land use of this from NDZ to RPZ for Golf Course ancillary activities but luckily the UDD has kept the proposal in abeyance. 2. Picture 2 is of 24th October 2017 in 33 hectares given by CIDCO to private builder for golf course and real estate development behind NRI complex and T S Chanakya institute which has mangroves , wetlands , CRZ areas and areas under Defense Regulation Zone. Luckily newly constituted wetlands redressal committee immediately asked CIDCO to stop the work to #saveNaviMumbaiWetlands. This is result of aware citizens complaining to various authorities including on 1926.
