Below are some details on the Save Navi Mumbai Wetlands: World Wetlands Day is a great excuse to go tromp around in your nearest wetland, but it’s also a great chance to take a moment to think bout the environment. Have a seat and let’s take a look at the wetlands and why it is important to have a day in their honor. Do you know what exactly a wetland is? A wetland can be defined as land that contains marshes or swamps. The Navi Mumbai is blessed to have such Natural Wetlands. One of wetlands behind NRI Complex, Nerul, Navi Mumbai is one of the endangered wetlands as #Cidco wants to destroy this natural beauty to make residential complexes and 2nd golf course in Navi Mumbai. All Navi Mumbai Residents are invited to join in activity on Sunday, 4th Feb 2018 to create awareness about this issue so that endangered wetlands can be protected. Below is a tentative schedule of activities planned for 4th February 2018: 1. Flag off of Runners 3 km run at 6.15 AM. Coordinated by Navi Mumbai Runners 2. Flag off of Cyclists at 6.30 am. Coordinated by Kazi of Everest Cycle Co. - Everest Cycling Culture 3. Nature trail 7.00 am to 9.00 am with Sarvesh Madhav Abhyankar. The participants can click pictures during trail and can upload best photos on FB group and social media with #savewetlandphotocompetition and winner will be decided and declared later. 4. Simultaneous activities like display of entries received for drawing competition 6.30 am onwards , yoga session 7.00 to 8.00 am Drumming Happiness 8.00 to 9.00 am etc... 5. Human Chain formation 9.00 am . 6. Chalk drawing competition on the road. 9.15 am . 7. Pledge to protect Talawe Wetlands. 9.30 am and Vote of Thanks.
