With a shattered heart I write this update. Our local mayor called me this evening and unfortunately he has zero authority in the release of Bentley. Any interjection would be deemed "obstruction of justice" and he simply cannot assist. It's purely up to the courts. And the courts have ruled that Bentley will be put down 9/6/22 unless it's taken to an appellate court. Even more unfortunate is the cost, just to file is over $7500 and we simply do not have that kind of money. It is complete and utter devastation that I type this out... my heart is absolutely destroyed. I am so grateful for all of you. Each and every single one who signed. Who has donated. Who has shared. Those that called and emailed. Those that have reached out to me personally, it's an overwhelming sense of gratitude and I'll never adequately be able to thank you all. I have 5 more visits total with Bentley and my 5th will be my final. A week from Monday I say goodbye, and I assure you I will not be okay. I won't be okay leading up to this, I won't be okay afterwards. We have truly lost the case.
