Drugs, Poisons and Controlled Substances Amendment (Pill Testing) Bill 2024

This Bill is a disingenuous attempt to justify the unjustifiable.

The very nature of pill testing is one that sanctions the use of dangerous illicit drugs.  There is no safe level of illicit drug use.

Prevention must be the primary focus of any health policy.

If levels of drug harm are rising, how is pill testing going to reduce the use of illicit drugs?  The opposite is inevitable.  Illicit drug use will increase, and if pill testing is the panacea for the problem, why must there be blanket civil and criminal immunities about the operation of drug-checking services?
