STRONGLY Oppose the Release of Edward Ramsey

The Issue

On February 23, 1989 Mark Weibel and Jerry Gaither were murdered at their work, A&A Auto Fabric. Ricky and Edward (Eddie) Ramsey were put on trial and convicted to life in prison WITHOUT THE POSSIBILITY OF PAROLE..

Due to a recent Federal Law, Eddie (inmate number 182817) is up for a parole hearing December 6, 2016. The Law states that anyone convicted of murder under the age of 18 at the time of the crime and has served 25 years, has a right to a parole hearing. Eddie was 16 at the time of the murder, so he is eligible.

The day of the double murder, both Ricky (uncle) and Eddie came to pick up their car that Mark and Jerry had been working on. The amount owed was approximately $700.00. Mark and Jerry were forced to lay down, and were shot in the back of the head, execution style (as described by the courts). Jerry was killed instantly. Mark later died at the hospital. The bullets that were found at the scene later proved both guns had been fired by 2 separate people.

Mark and Jerry were two innocent men doing their job and happened to be there at the time. Ricky and Eddie could have easily walked in, flashed the guns, and the victims would have told them to take the car! The victims would not have been out any money if Ricky and Eddie just took the car and left. Both of these men walked into the shop with guns and the intent to kill anyone in the building.

The news of the parole hearing to our families has brought to surface so much anger, sadness, loss and fear. We have had comfort in knowing this criminal is behind bars, and even the chance that Eddie could one day be released to live freely is unacceptable. The day of the murder two men lost their lives, so in return, the two men guilty should forever lose their freedom.

We are ask you to sign this petition to STRONGLY oppose the release of Edward Ramsey. This is in support of The Weibel family.
