#40000 Petition tabled in parliament

Dear All, 

The petition with over 5000 signatures was tabled in parliament on 9th July 2026 - thank you so much for the support!

By tabling it in parliament it is now included in the Hansard, a legislative document, which the Government of Sri Lanka is obliged to respond to. There were a series of questions raised in parliament by the Leader of Opposition during the special debate on child protection crisis. The Minister of women and Child Affairs confirmed she would respond in two weeks, by 23 July 2026; will keep you updated.
