Weitzman and Des Lauriers failure to perform due diligence resulted in 323 missing animals.  Most are now presumed dead by being fed alive to reptiles, killed and frozen for feeders or used to breed feeder animals.

Did Weitzman and Des Lauriers review a contract between HSSA and Trevor Jones?  Contracts/agreements have not been posted for transparency and public records are said to have been denied.  It’s been one lie after another. 

SDHS not only put the animals in harm’s way, it appears they also failed to demand the animals back when they were aware the they were in immediate danger of possibly being killed.  Further, SDHS has still not followed through with legal counsel or contacted the Attorney General regarding animal cruelty charges for CEO Steve Farley/ CPO Christian Gonzales. 

It’s been 73 days since the animals were unethically shipped to Humane Society of Southern Arizona from the San Diego Humane Society on that cold refrigerated Enterprise rental truck in cages cruelly stacked from the floor to ceiling causing the prey animals to be in fear and confusion. 

It also appears the shelters never had the best interest of the animals at heart sending them on this unethical and illogical transfer with no oversight thereafter.  After  animal advocates found the shocking truth, the shelters started to clean up their cruel wrong doings and have since dragged their feet putting any possibly alive animals at more risk. 

Around 62 animals were returned to HSSA in poor condition and 250+ are still unaccounted for.  The city pays SDHS $16.8 million dollars a year for these services, who holds them accountable?

Those facts are incredibly appalling and unacceptable as well as the fact the Trustees of SDHS have not held Weitzman and Des Lauriers accountable.
