The last 2 weeks have been a whirlwind - we've had continued and exceptional media coverage http://www.1bru1vote.be/#featured, endorsement from several politicians and high academic, entrepreneurial and cultural profiles. The Petition has now reached 2300 signatures. But this is only the beginning. Now we are pushing ahead with our path to victory. If we want voting rights granted in time for the 2019 regional elections, we need to build the momentum and pressure among Brussels residents and Belgian politicians during the month of March. Join us and share with your friends, colleagues, neighbors and networks https://www.facebook.com/events/2024352624501036/ The European Commission came out with a report last week http://bit.ly/2BEM6Od on EU citizens' voting rights (see our press release http://www.1bru1vote.be/pr/press-release-n2/) revealing how poorly Belgium performs in terms of democratic rights for its EU citizens. Those citizens make up 220.000 of the 310.000 Brussels-Capital residents we are campaigning for! Like we do, the report points to a severe democratic deficit in Belgium. To succeed, we need to go local and bring together grass-roots support in every one of the 19 Brussels communes! We call upon all non-Belgian Brussels residents to join us.
