A letter received from council on 14 April 2023 stated that, 'as a result of a clerical error, a number of owners and occupiers were not notified as part of the notification process that was conducted in March. As a result, this additional notification, to those who were originally omitted has now commenced.'

A lack of due diligence is NOT what we want to see here. This floppy and half hearted attitude seems to run deep and we fear this is the attitude that is prevalent when assessing the many inappropriate planning applications coming through. 

It's a matter of stealth, whereby Darebin Council is NOT abiding by its own planning policies, and hoping NO-ONE will notice. Well in this case we have noticed. Along with the assistance (and cost might I add) of a town planner, a host of non-compliant features, hidden deep within the application and supporting plans have been uncovered. These are things that should be picked up prior to notice of application, by the so-called experts.
