The City’s Planning and Housing Committee will review the proposal on August 16, 2023. At this time, the CHNA will present its case, which includes concerns raised by the community.

Leading up to the meeting, CHNA will continue to:

  • Demand development that plays by the rules: High-rise developments, including those that run along future transit corridors, must appropriately transition to abutting communities, as required by Ottawa’s Official Plan and policy framework.
  • Call for the protection of the Central Experimental Farm’s (CEF) research: Proposed high-rise developments along the perimeter of the farm must not be approved until there is further understanding of shadow impacts on CEF crop research.
