Because of your support, the effort to bring a community pool to Hermosa Beach is gaining real traction!
💦🏊 BIG NEWS: Hb Parks & Rec is Starting Research for a Pool!
This week, the Parks & Recreation Director asked us to help City Staff gather data on other pools to move the pool conversation forward! If you have expertise in aquatics facilities, municipal planning, budgeting, fundraising, or community recreation, we’d love your help.
🌊 Youth Council Making a Splash
The HPI Youth Council continues to lead the charge. Youth Council leaders Ryan, Connor, and Tate have been named to the newly formed Hermosa Beach Parks & Rec Youth Advisory Squad, and they’ve already met one-on-one with commissioners to talk about why Hermosa needs a pool.
✍️ Help Us Reach a Civic Benchmark of Support!
To show clear community backing, we’re aiming for 2,554 signatures — the number of votes it took to elect Hermosa’s most recent mayor. Reaching that level signals that support for a community pool represents a real cross-section of our city.
Thanks to you, we’re already at 1,700+ signatures (digital and handwritten combined)!
Please help push us across that benchmark by sharing the petition with your Hermosa networks — beach volleyball leagues, HBYB, Little League, Adventure Guides, Girl Scouts, and neighborhood groups. It's:

🏡 Is your home a great location for a yard sign?
We’d love to give you one! For a yard sign or to volunteer, email us at hermosapoolinitiative@gmail.com.
Every signature, share, and conversation brings Hermosa one step closer to a community pool.
Thank you.
*The pool in the photo is the new municipal pool that is opening April 11 in Piedmont, CA - a small, similar size city in San Francisco. Put it on your vision board!
