私は通訳ガイドとして天橋立を訪れる観光客に対し、この地区の自然美や環境の素晴らしさを伝えています。しかし、観光船で観光客によりカモメやトンビなどの鳥獣への餌付けが行われていることに大きな懸念を抱いています。何故なら、餌は本来鳥が食べる魚ではなく、人間のお菓子、特にえびせんなどが与えられてしまっているからです。これにより鳥の健康被害、そして周辺環境の生態系への影響が起きていると考えると大変憂慮すべき事態です。

鳥が食べるべき魚と違い、人間の食べ物は高い塩分濃度や添加物を含んでおり、これによって鳥たちは健康を害し病気になる可能性があります。病気の鳥から発生するフンは、そのまま観光地である天橋立やその周辺の松などの生態系に影響を与える可能性があります。

日本三景のうち、宮城県松島では、鳥のフンによる松枯れ被害があり、平成26年に観光船からの野鳥への餌付けを取り止めています。北海道知床観光船でも鳥の餌付けを控える取り組みがされています。

日本三景である美しい天橋立の景観を守るため、そして何より私たちと共にこの地を生きる動植物、自然環境を守るために、鳥獣への餌付け禁止または、観光船で使うものは自然由来の餌への変更を求めます。このペティションに賛同いただける方は署名をお願いします。

I am a local tour guide in Miyazu city. I always guide my guests around Amanohashidate area, and take them on boat trips. However, the company which runs the sightseeing boats sells human snacks to feed birds (seagulls and kites) as a tourist attraction. 

For Japanese and Asian people, it might be fun. In most cases, my guests are from Europe and the US who worry about birds health and the environment. 
Besides, I have seen feces of birds falling on tourists.

My agent told the company to stop selling the snack but they still continue to sell it at the pier. What is really concerning is that if birds get sick from eating human snacks and the virus spreads through feces, this whole area will lose visitors, which could kill the local economy.
