Feb 12, 2021 —

(English below)

We will be handing in our  petition on February 16th!
Thank you very much for signing the petition we started regarding Ex-Chairman Mori’s remark.
We’ve been able to gather around 150 thousand signatures over the past week, and we can’t thank each and every one of you enough for helping us get so far.

To update you all regarding the direction of this petition, we will be turning this petition to the Tokyo 2020 Committee at 11:30 on February 16th.

On the committee side, they have already announced the retirement of Chairman Mori, the formation of a gender-balanced new election committee to decide on the new chairman, and a project/team focused on achieving gender equality.

From what they have announced, we can see that the committee is making an effort to organize a game that stands against discrimination, but we also believe that this is not enough, and that the creation of a policy/code of conduct to prevent such incidents from happening again, is crucial.

Therefore, as mentioned in the original petition, we ask for the Olympic Committee to create a legitimate prevention measure (such as a zero-tolerance policy) and to comply with the 40% quota of female directors in every organization / committee related to the olympics.

Although we don’t have a lot of time left until we hand the petition in, we do want to deliver as many voices as possible, so please help us share this petition with your friends and acquaintances!
