坂本龍馬を教育に活かす活動

「 坂 本 龍 馬 を 教 科 書 か ら 守 ろ う  !  !  」

 

    坂本龍馬がまとめた「八策（新政府綱領）」は、「大政奉還に関する建白書」の基礎となり、最終的には明治維新政府が国民に広く示した「五箇条の御誓文」へとつながっています。

　龍馬は幕末と近代の架け橋を築き、新国家建設の礎を示しました。その人気、魅力、存在感は歴史上の人物の中でも群を抜いており、まさにNo.1です。

　しかし、学習指導要領に記載されている歴史上の人物の中に、坂本龍馬の名前はありません。日本の歴史において最も愛され、親しまれている龍馬の名が記されていないことは、誠に残念です。

　文部科学省「学習指導要領」には、歴史上の人物を取り上げ、人物の働きをとおして学習できるように指導すべき人物が42名います。そこに“坂本龍馬”の名前はありません。このままでは、次の教科書から“坂本龍馬”が消えてしまいます。学習指導要領はおよそ10年に1度、改訂されます。前回は平成29年から令和元年に見直されました。

　今年は坂本龍馬の生誕190年にあたります。190年にわたり敬愛され続けた偉人・坂本龍馬を、学習指導要領に必ず教えなければならない43番目の人物に加えていただくよう、文部科学省に要望します。歴史の出来事を覚えるだけでなく、「人と人をつなぐ」ことや「自忘他利（利他精神）」を学ぶ教育を推進していくべきと考えます。

　日本を良くしたいと願うみなさまへ。龍馬や維新の志士のように、日本が他国に侮られることのない強い国となることを願うみなさまへ。ぜひ、ご賛同をお願いいたします！

    Activities to Utilize Sakamoto Ryoma in Education

    Protect Sakamoto Ryoma from Disappearing in School Textbooks!!

Sakamoto Ryoma compiled the "Eight Proposals (New Government Outline)," which served as the foundation for the "Proposal for the Restoration of Imperial Rule," ultimately connecting to the "Charter Oath" widely announced by the Meiji Restoration government.

Ryoma built a bridge between the late Edo period and modernization, laying the foundation for a new state. His popularity, charisma, and presence are unmatched among historical figures, making him truly No. 1.

However, Sakamoto Ryoma's name is not included among the historical figures listed in the curriculum guidelines. It is truly unfortunate that the name of Ryoma, who is the most beloved and familiar figure in Japanese history, is not mentioned.

The Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT) curriculum guidelines identify 42 historical figures whose contributions should be highlighted for learning purposes. However, "Sakamoto Ryoma" is not among them. If this continues, "Sakamoto Ryoma" will disappear from future textbooks. The curriculum guidelines are revised approximately every 10 years. The last revision took place between Heisei 29 (2017) and Reiwa 1 (2019).

This year marks the 190th anniversary of Sakamoto Ryoma's birth. In recognition of a great figure who has been respected for 190 years, we request MEXT to add Ryoma as the 43rd individual to be mandatorily taught in the curriculum guidelines. We believe that education should not only involve memorizing historical events but also promote learning about connecting people and embracing the altruistic spirit ("Jibou Tari").

To those who wish to improve Japan, and to those who, like Ryoma and the loyalists of the Meiji Restoration, hope for Japan to become a strong nation that no other country can look down upon, we sincerely ask for your support.
