2026年10月10日（令和8年）、大阪府の泉佐野市と泉大津市で、祭りのだんじりが相次いで横転しました。だんじりの側面に乗っていた男性2人が下敷きとなって亡くなり、あわせて16人が重軽傷を負いました。大阪府警は、どちらも「やりまわし」で交差点を曲がる際にバランスを崩したとみて、経緯を調べています。
だんじり祭りは、地域が長く受け継いできた大切な文化です。それでも、参加者の生命と安全は、継承よりも先に守られなければなりません。祭りを支える立場の方が命を落とす事態を、二度と繰り返してはなりません。
そこで、行政と祭礼関係者に、次の6点の検討と、その結果の公表を求めます。
1. 事故原因を検証し、結果を公表すること
2. やりまわしなど危険を伴う曳行について、安全基準を策定すること
3. 安全を確保できない場合に曳行を中止する基準を、明確にすること
4. 道路使用許可と交通規制における安全対策を、見直すこと
5. 祭礼の運営責任者と安全管理責任者を置き、事故時の責任体制を明確にすること
6. 府内のだんじり祭り全体に共通する再発防止策を、検討すること
参加者が安心して祭りに参加できる環境を整えるために、署名へのご協力をお願いします。
Purpose of this petition
We call for the results of an investigation into the causes of the fatal danjiri festival accidents to be made public, and for concrete measures to be drawn up to prevent a recurrence.
On October 10, 2026 (Reiwa 8), danjiri festival floats overturned one after another in Izumisano and Izumiotsu, Osaka Prefecture. Two men riding on the sides of the floats were crushed and killed, and a total of 16 people were seriously or slightly injured. The Osaka Prefectural Police believe that in both cases the float lost its balance while turning a corner at an intersection in the "yarimawashi" maneuver, and are investigating how the accidents happened.
The danjiri festival is an important cultural tradition that local communities have handed down over many years. Even so, the lives and safety of participants must be protected before the tradition is. We must never again allow the death of someone who supports the festival.
We therefore ask the authorities and festival organizers to consider the following six points and to make the results public.
1. Investigate the causes of the accidents and publish the findings.
2. Establish safety standards for hazardous hauling practices such as yarimawashi (fast corner turns).
3. Set clear criteria for suspending the hauling of a float when safety cannot be ensured.
4. Review the safety measures built into road-use permits and traffic controls.
5. Appoint a festival operations manager and a safety manager, and make the chain of responsibility clear in the event of an accident.
6. Consider preventive measures common to all danjiri festivals in the prefecture.
