أنا أصيلة جزيرة جربة، وكما هو حال جميع الجربيين، أنا مرتبطة بعمق بتراثنا الثقافي الغني، وخاصة مساجدنا القديمة. هذه المباني التي تمتد لآلاف السنين تروي القصة الاستثنائية لجزيرتنا وتجسد جزءًا أساسيًا من هويتنا الجماعية. من واجبنا الملح الحفاظ عليها للأجيال القادمة.

للأسف، هذه الكنوز المعمارية اليوم مهددة بشكل كبير. في السنوات الأخيرة، تعرضت مساجدنا للنهب والتخريب. حيث قام أفراد غير معروفين بتخريب هذه الأماكن المقدسة، وحفروا في هياكلها، وأزالوا الإطارات القديمة للأبواب والنوافذ لبيعها لأصحاب بيوت الضيافة والمباني الأخرى الذين يسعون للحصول على طابع قديم وأصيل. هذه الأفعال المشينة تسببت في أضرار لا يمكن إصلاحها، مما أدى إلى انهيار أجزاء كبيرة من هذه المباني.

هذه المساجد، التي هي شاهد على تاريخنا المشترك، أصبحت اليوم غير قابلة للتعرف عليها. وقد فقدت جزءًا كبيرًا من هيكلها!

يُعد التراث الثقافي من ممتلكات لا تقدر بثمن وغير قابلة للتجديد. وعندما يتم تدميره، فإنه يفقد إلى الأبد. هذا التراث يمثل رابطًا حيًا بين ماضينا وحاضرنا ومستقبل مجتمعنا.

نحن ندعو إلى اتخاذ تدابير عاجلة وصارمة لحماية مساجدنا التاريخية، بما في ذلك:

- تعزيز المراقبة من قبل السلطات المحلية وقوات الأمن؛

- فرض عقوبات صارمة على المخربين وكذلك على أولئك الذين يشترون أو يستخدمون المواد المستخلصة من المساجد المدمرة؛

- تنفيذ مشاريع الترميم بشكل فوري؛

- تحفيز المجتمعات المحلية للمساهمة في المراقبة والحفاظ على تراثهم

Let’s Save the Historic Mosques of Djerba: An Urgent Matter for Our Heritage !

I am from Djerba, and like all Djerbians, I am deeply attached to our rich cultural heritage, particularly our ancient mosques. These millennial buildings tell the extraordinary history of our island and represent an essential part of our collective identity. We have an imperative duty to preserve them for future generations.

Unfortunately, these architectural treasures are now in grave danger. In recent years, our mosques have been targeted by looting and vandalism. Unidentified individuals have desecrated these sacred sites, digging into their structures, removing the ancient frames of doors and windows to sell them to owners of guesthouses and other buildings seeking to acquire an antique and authentic character. These deplorable acts have caused irreparable damage, leading to the collapse of large portions of these buildings.

Among the mosques recently affected by these acts of vandalism, we can mention:

These mosques, witnesses to our shared history, are now unrecognizable. A large part of their structure has already been lost!

Cultural heritage is an invaluable and irreplaceable asset. Once destroyed, it is lost forever. This heritage represents a living link between our past, present, and the future of our community.

It is time to act to stop this destruction! We call for urgent and strict measures to protect our historic mosques, including:

• Strengthened surveillance and proactive monitoring by local authorities and law enforcement, ensuring round-the-clock protection of these sacred sites from further vandalism and illegal activities.
• Imposition of strict penalties and legal consequences for the vandals, as well as for those who illegally purchase, sell, or use materials plundered from the mosques, to deter future destruction and exploitation.
• Immediate initiation of comprehensive restoration projects, involving experts and skilled craftsmen, to repair the damage and safeguard the architectural integrity of these irreplaceable cultural monuments.
• Active mobilization of local communities to foster a sense of ownership and responsibility, encouraging them to participate in the surveillance, protection, and preservation of their heritage for current and future generations.

Sauvons les mosquées historiques de Djerba : une urgence pour notre patrimoine

Je suis originaire de Djerba et, comme tous les Djerbiens, je suis profondément attachée à notre riche patrimoine culturel, notamment à nos anciennes mosquées. Ces édifices millénaires racontent l’histoire extraordinaire de notre île et incarnent une part essentielle de notre identité collective. Nous avons le devoir impératif de les préserver pour les générations futures.

Malheureusement, ces trésors architecturaux sont aujourd’hui en grave danger. Ces dernières années, nos mosquées ont été la cible de pillages et de vandalisme. Des individus, encore non identifiés, ont saccagé ces lieux sacrés, creusant dans leurs structures, arrachant les encadrements anciens des portes et fenêtres pour les revendre aux propriétaires de maisons d’hôtes et autres édifices souhaitant se doter d’un caractère ancien et authentique. Ces actes déplorables causent des dégâts irréparables, entraînant l’effondrement de larges portions de ces édifices.

Ces mosquées, témoins de notre histoire commune, sont aujourd’hui méconnaissables. Une grande partie de leur structure est déjà perdue!

Le patrimoine culturel est un bien inestimable et non renouvelable. Une fois détruit, il est perdu à jamais. Ce patrimoine représente un lien vivant entre notre passé, notre présent et l’avenir de notre communauté.

Il est temps d’agir pour mettre fin à cette destruction ! Nous appelons à des mesures urgentes et strictes pour protéger nos mosquées historiques, notamment :

• Une surveillance renforcée par les autorités locales et les forces de l’ordre ;
• Des sanctions sévères pour les vandales ainsi que pour ceux qui achètent ou utilisent des matériaux provenant des mosquées détruites ;
• La mise en œuvre immédiate de projets de restauration ;
• La mobiliastion des communautés locales afin de contribuer à la surveillance et à la préservation de leur patri
