نحن الموقعين أدناه، نرفع هذا النداء العاجل تضامناً مع قضية المواطنة الأردنية وفاء أبو سمرة، التي واجهت تهديداً صريحاً بالقتل وإهدار دمها من قِبَل أفراد من عائلتها؛ وبدلاً من إلقاء القبض على المُعَنِّفين والمُهَدِّدين، تم توقيف وفاء إدارياً وحجز حريتها بذريعة "حمايتها" بموجب قانون منع الجرائم لعام 1954،إن احتجاز الضحايا وإيداعهن مراكز التوقيف يعاقب المرأة على كونها ضحية، ويسلبها حقها الطبيعي في الحياة، والتنقل، والعمل، بينما يظل الجناة طلقاء بلا محاسبة. هذا الإجراء يشجع على استمرار العنف الأسري ويقوض أركان العدالة، بناءً على ذلك، نطالب السلطات الأردنية وأصحاب القرار بالآتي:الإفراج الفوري: نقل وفاء أبو سمرة من مركز التوقيف الإداري إلى دار رعاية آمنة وحرة تضمن كرامتها وحريتها 

محاسبة الجناة: تفعيل أوامر القبض والملاحقة القانونية الفورية ضد كل من هدد وفاء بالقتل وأهدر دمها

التعديل التشريعي: تعديل أو إلغاء المواد التي تسمح بالتوقيف الإداري الحمائي للضحايا في قانون منع الجرائم، واستبدالها بآليات تعاقب "المُهَدِّد" وتوفر الحماية الحرة للضحية.

 petition in solidarity with Wafaa Abu Samra, a Jordanian woman who faced direct and explicit death threats from members of her family. Instead of arresting the perpetrators, Wafaa was placed under "protective administrative detention" under the 1954 Crime Prevention Law.Detaining victims in correctional facilities punishes them for being targeted, strips them of their fundamental rights to life, movement, and work, while the perpetrators remain free. This practice perpetuates domestic violence and undermines the core principles of justice.Therefore, we demand the Jordanian authorities to:Immediate Release: Transfer Wafaa Abu Samra from administrative detention to a safe, free, and dignified shelter.Accountability: Execute immediate arrest warrants and legal prosecution against those who issued the death threats.Legal Amendment: Amend or abolish provisions within the Crime Prevention Law that allow the administrative detention of victims, replacing them with mechanisms that penalize the "threat" and protect the victim.
