Our requests for the immediate closure of the brothels and the night clubs in Ankawa comes from years of frustration by the local community due to the negative impact of these developments on the social fabric of the society.

Ankawa is built on the lands of a traditional family oriented Christian Catholic community. Our generous and inclusive nature was taken advantage of as we were subject to waves of manipulation. Ankawa was especially used by the political parties to present Iraq as a modern and inclusive nation where Christians have equal rights. Despite using Ankawa to promote Iraq, our lands were slowly stolen and our community subjected to moral depravity.
