Save the ancient school- the only wooden dacha in Malakhovka of the epoch of Fyodor Shalyapin, Ivan Bunin, Maxim Gorky and Mark Shagal!

The suburbian settlement Malakhovka (10 km from Moscow) is world-widely known for the famous artists who lived there in 1900-1925 years. This  was summer  rest spent in wooden houses called dachas. Malakhovka attracted the authors Anton Chekhov, Maxim Gorki, Ivan Bunin, Vladimir Mayakoskiy, the singers F. Shalyapin and L.Sobinov and many others, the actors of the Moscow Art Theater and K. Stanislavski and many other famous persons. In 20ies the painter  Mark Shagal gave lesson of art to jewish orphans in a school. There is the museum here and many tourists from Moscow, Paris, New-York- and all over the world -  visit this sightseeing.

Still there are very a few original buildings of that period left. The last one is highly likely the building of a dacha that was used as a school, now the elementary school ‘Skazka”. It is supposed to be a place where the great painter Mark Shagal worked. The picturesque building, decorated with Russian traditional carving with elements of the Jugendstil, was a witness of walks of famous inhabitants and visitors of Malakhovka as it is situated on the cross of the roads to the Railway station, to the lake, to the park.

The wooden building is to old to be used as a school. So it was proposed to demolish the school and to build a new one. But the new school can be erected in another place. While the building s good enough for museum expositions and exercises of young musicians or artists/

We ask the people who appreciate the art and history to express their position concerning the possibility of saving the ancient building/
