The government brought on a general reaction with the passing of the anti-environmental bill just a few days before the relaxation of Covid-19 restrictions regarding freedom of movement. It ignored the many professional  and institutional bodies, the whole environmental movement of the country and thousands of citizens which opposed the bill and demanded total  or partial withdrawal and/or even to postpone the discussions of the bill in the house parliament.

The 150 environmental movements and collectives who asked for immediate withdrawal of the whole bill (#aposyre_to) presented on the 5th of May, day of the parliamentary vote, the 20,000 signatures that had been collected for this purpose.

We thank you  and assure you that the battle does not end here! We will not allow the government to ignore us. We invite you all to join us in this battle so that the anti-environmental bill remains only on paper.

We will not allow them to sacrifice of our natural and historical environment in the name of “development” and ephemeral financial interests, and this in a period where we need to implement stricter measures for its protection conservation and  restoration. The battle against this monstrous bill of environmental Minister Kostis Hatzidakis continues!
