Countless women and girls face prejudice, exclusion, and bias simply because they experience menstruation. It is unacceptable that such a natural bodily function continues to hinder their access to education, economic opportunities, and full participation in daily life.
World Menstrual Hygiene Day aims to:
- Challenge the stereotypes and eliminating the shame surrounding menstruation
- Increase awareness about the obstacles related to menstrual product accessibility, menstrual education, and the availability of hygienic sanitation facilities.
All these efforts are to ensure we live in a world where no individual is limited or disadvantaged due to menstruation by the year 2030.
Together, we strive to dismantle the barriers, dispel the myths, and eradicate the social taboos associated with menstruation. By doing so, we aim to foster an environment of understanding, equality, and empowerment for all individuals who experience menstruation.
Join us in this ongoing journey to transform societal norms, promote menstrual health, and ensure that every woman and girl can fulfil her potential without being held back by the natural process of menstruation.
