In New Zealand the medical practice of abortion is legal under the circumstances of rape, disabiities to the child, and physical and mental injuries to the mother. Howevere, in all other cases, the practice is illegal.
It is 2017 and all women in New Zealand deserve to have a choice in what they do with their body. If a woman does not wish to abort due to any religious values or beliefs, then that is the choice that woman makes. But if a woman wishes to abort her pregnancy for reasons outside rape, disabilities to the child, and physical and mental damage, then that woman has the right to chose too.
Abortion is a topic which tends to raise the hackles of even the most mild-mannered of people and easily creates an uproar, but by even joining this movement, we have begun to erase the tigma of abortions in New Zealand.
The success of this movement will involve either media attention and more awareness to the subject at hand, and possibly even the legalisation of abortions in New Zealand.
In 1893, New Zealand was the first country in the world to grant women the right to vote, I think that it's time we live up to that name.
*This movement does not wish to exclude anyone of any gender (or no gender), religion, sexuality or ethnicity. All are welcome and appreciated
