Across the country, students are fighting to introduce more Black history into their schools and to stop state legislatures from banning many of the same topics. Requirements to teach wide swaths of history, including subjects like Frederick Douglass and Martin Luther King Jr, Native American history, and women of the US founding, are being eliminated. These petitions represent just some of the students fighting to change that.
