Ahead of the UK Government's Spring Statement news reporting, which was subsequently confirmed by the Government, revealed cuts of as much as £5bn from welfare policies.
Key policies in the reforms include tightening eligibility criteria for the personal independence payment (PIP), freezing rates of incapacity benefits (a de facto reduction in the support people receive), and abolishment of the Work Capability Assessment.
