Sociologists have described Turning Point USA's role as "embracing confrontation by explicitly seeking to mobilize the culture war on campus." Many college students believe that "culture war" is not productive discourse or compatible with learning and safety on their campuses — so they are asking their schools to bar the organization from operating and organizing events with school approval.
