Action against false accusers and law abusers and no action against innocent accused until proven guilty

With only few cases coming to the limelight there are abundance of false cases originating every year. Current one being of Vikas Sachdeva / Zaira wasim, we should not forget Rohtak sisters and Jasleen Kaur. Annually more than 80,000 molestation cases gets reported while approx. 7000 turns into conviction. Figures itself shows the extent of FIR reported with malicious intent.  

      Authorities has taken advantage of our short memory and slow prosecution to drag the cases for years so that by the time acquittal happen no one will know about it and nobody will care if no action is taken against the false accuser.

     While statistics shows the extent of misuse of law, statistics also shows the blind eye turned by authorities towards false accusers by not taking any action against them. All of the above mentioned cases are good example of that. This has to stop somewhere so that we can make our society safer for both men and women.

    Time has come that we should push the authorities for strict action against the false accusers. The responsibility is on all of us, whether we want to live imaginatively with “It won't happen to me” syndrome or take action before it happen to any of our family member. Protection of women is important but in the name of protection, misusing the law is grossly inappropriate and harmful to genuine women victims also.
