5 LOCAL PETITIONS THAT HAD A BIG IMPACT IN 2023

There were more than 180K petitions started on Change.org in the U.S. in 2023, and nearly 43 million signatures were added to those campaigns. “In a year characterized by humanitarian and climate crises it would be easy to lose hope, but the people who used Change.org to fight for the causes that matter to them demonstrated time and again that speaking up has the power to change lives,” said Alex Rapson, U.S. Communications Manager at Change.org.

“From huge national victories – like securing air conditioning for UPS truck drivers, to smaller wins that made a big impact – like making Lunar New Year an official holiday in New York public schools, we continue to be inspired by the power of Change.org users – both online and off.”
