Stop the closure of Woolwich Fire Station

The Issue

Woolwich Fire Station serves an important role in saving lives across Woolwich and the wider community. Built in 1887, Woolwich Fire Station is a Grade-II listed Building. It was extended in 1910 and is comparable in style to Southwark Fire Station.

The proposal to close this fire station is reckless and puts lives at risk in the poorest parts of London.

It is important that the Mayor gets a clear message to rethink his proposals and abandon closures. Savings can be made while keeping the fire stations across London in place.
