STOP THE SALE OF KINGS MEADOW SWIMMING BATHS AND LET THE COMMUNITY TURN IT IN TO CUTTING EDGE CULTURAL VENUE!

We want to see these baths become part of a community owned group, offering socially beneficial projects and services to the whole community.

Help us pursuade the council not to sell these baths, but instead help us the community take over the running of a cultural centre for all the family to enjoy!

We believe the baths can reopen as community cultural project that will give us something to be proud of. We have a plan to turn it into a multi use cultural centre, which all ages can enjoy. With open air music concerts; an international art gallery; swimming pool; performance space; a winter ice skating rink and winter market.

And the funny thing about it, the thing they won’t want you to believe. We think it will generate a lot of money. Money that will not be put in shareholders pockets, but will go back into the Reading cultural scene.

At a time when funding is drying up for important cultural programs, what a great vehicle to get more funds back into these projects, and what a better way to do it, then by offering the community a service.

We can’t do this without you. The world is changing. We can’t change it all, but we can do our little bit. It might be teeny weeny on the scheme of things, but its our teeny weeny thing.

Don't let the baths go the same way as the towns old buildings like the MGM cinema, Ye Ol Boars Head pub and the Art Deco Grandy Cinema…and now we have beautiful towering hotel and a very in trend pawn shop.
