It's absolutely ridiculous that the best test batsmen that India currently has is being ignored the ODI team. Though he lacks the 6 hitting power of Raina, Dhoni etc.  he has shown that he can score quickly. His List A average of 55 speaks for itself. In fact, his List A average is higher than any of other players' in the ODI team.

It's also unfair that Pujara has not been given further chances after the Zimbabwe tour when a player like Rohit Sharma has performed once in a blue moon while playing ODIs for over 7 years! I can't recall the last time Raina performed for India. Even a player like Ishant Sharma has been given so many chances even though he has failed in the vast majority of his matches.

It's important for India to have a consistent player like Pujara in the team, especially in overseas conditions. Kohli has looked like the lone fighter in the last 2 ODIs. This is becoming remniscient of India in the 90s. Having someone like Pujara will provide India with a solid foundation at the top of the order so that finishers like Dhoni can walk out with an easier task to finish.
