Please keep highway 401 free of digital billboards.

The Issue

Metrolinx is proposing eight massive digital billboards, on the 401.

Commercial advertising, flashing 5,760 times a day, designed to distract drivers from the road.

Local residents have not ben consulted, and the proposal has been rejected by City Staff and by the Sign Variance Committee.  But City Council will be debating and voting on the proposal on July 8, 9 or 10.

We need to protect our public spaces, and we need to work towards safer roads with less distraction, not more.
