Victoria Petro-Eschler is an elected official serving as the Council Chair for District1 on the Salt Lake City Council. She was initially appointed to the council in November 2021 and subsequently elected to a full four-year term beginning January 3, 2022. Petro-Eschler also represents Salt Lake City on the Utah Inland Port Authority Board of Directors. She has called District 1 home for nearly a decade and is raising four children in the neighborhood. Prior to her involvement in local politics, Petro-Eschler earned a bachelor’s degree in music therapy from East Carolina University, studied Musicology at Brandeis University, and received a master’s degree in international studies from North Carolina State University. She has worked for several non-profits and as a diversity consultant, focusing on inclusion, diversity, equity, and accessibility.
