Unió Democràtica de Catalunya

Unió Democràtica de Catalunya, often abbreviated as UDC, was a moderate, Christian democrat political party in Catalonia, Spain. Established in 1931, it was historically one of the most influential political forces in Catalonia, particularly during the Second Spanish Republic and early years of Spanish transition to democracy. UDC held a significant place in Catalan politics, its influence largely marked by its advocacy for greater autonomy for Catalonia within a united Spain. Despite its distinctive presence, the party dissolved in 2017 due to internal disagreements in recent years and growing financial troubles.
