Tram Nguyen is an American politician and attorney serving as a member of the Massachusetts House of Representatives for the 18th Essex District since 2019. She represents the towns of Andover, Boxford, North Andover, and Tewksbury. A member of the Democratic Party, Nguyen is the first Vietnamese-American woman elected to the Massachusetts Legislature and is the highest-ranking Asian American woman in the legislature. She serves as the Vice Chair of the House Committee on Steering, Policy & Scheduling and is a member of several other committees including the Joint Committee on Mental Health, Substance Use & Recovery. Before her election, Nguyen worked as an attorney at Greater Boston Legal Services, advocating for vulnerable communities such as survivors of domestic violence, seniors, veterans, and low-wage workers.
