Thomas Hawley Tuberville, born in 1954, is an American politician and retired college football coach, currently serving as the senior United States Senator from Alabama, a position he has held since 2021. A member of the Republican Party, Tuberville transitioned to politics after a successful career in college football coaching. He earned a Bachelor's degree in Education from Southern Arkansas University and graduated from Harmony Grove High School. Tuberville's coaching career includes head coaching positions at several universities: the University of Mississippi (1995-1998), Auburn University (1999-2008), Texas Tech University (2010-2012), and the University of Cincinnati (2013-2016). His extensive experience in sports and education has contributed to his political career, where he continues to serve Alabama.
