Skyler David Rude is an American politician and a member of the Republican Party. Since January 3, 2019, he has served as a State Representative for the 16th District in the Washington House of Representatives, succeeding retiring Republican Terry Nealey. Rude is noted for being the only openly gay Republican in the Washington State House. In his political career, he has also worked as a Legislative Assistant for the 16th District. Before his political career, he gained experience in the property and casualty insurance sector. Rude's work in the legislature reflects his commitment to representing his constituents and addressing both local and broader issues within the framework of his Republican values.
