Ruth Johnson is an American businesswoman and Republican politician who has been serving as a member of the Michigan Senate since 2019. She has a distinguished career in public service, having been the 42nd Secretary of State of Michigan from 2011 to 2019. Prior to that, she was a member of the Michigan House of Representatives from 1999 to 2005. Johnson holds a Master's degree from Wayne State University and a Bachelor's degree in History and Social Science from Oakland University.
