Rick Jennings is an American public figure known for his diverse career as a professional football player and a politician. Jennings attended Coolidge High School in Washington, D.C. before playing college football at the University of Maryland, College Park. In 1976, he was drafted by the Oakland Raiders and later had brief stints with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and San Francisco 49ers. Jennings became notable for setting a record with the Buccaneers for the shortest time spent on the team. After multiple team transitions, he contributed as a kick returner for the Super Bowl XI champion Raiders. Following his NFL career, Jennings pursued public service as a Sacramento School Board Member and leads the Center for Fathers and Families, supporting fatherless families.
