Omar Aquino is an American politician and a dedicated member of the Democratic Party, serving as a state senator in the Illinois Senate for the 2nd district since July 2016. Aquino became the youngest-ever Latino member of the Illinois State Senate at age 29, succeeding William Delgado following his retirement. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice and Sociology from Loyola University Chicago. Before his tenure in the state senate, Aquino gained valuable experience as an aide to Congresswoman Tammy Duckworth. His career also includes roles such as Outreach Coordinator for Congresswoman Duckworth, Legislative Assistant at the Illinois General Assembly, and Bilingual Case Manager at the Central West Case Management Unit at the Jane Addams School of Social Work.
