Nimasheena Burns is a dedicated public servant with a robust background in communications and public affairs. Burns has served as a Commissioner for Durham County, showcasing her commitment to local governance and community development. Her diverse career includes roles such as Spanish Instructor at Bladen County Public Schools, Community Liaison for the Carolina Women's Center, and Assistant Policy Associate at Brad Thompson and Associates. She has also held significant positions in government relations, including Director of Public Affairs and Loan Marketing at the USDA’s Farm Service Agency, and Outreach and Affairs Officer at the N.C. Department of Justice Consumer Protection Division. Additionally, Burns has contributed as an Assistant Public Affairs Specialist at the N.C. Governor’s Highway Safety Program and as Director of Communications and Project Management at the N.C. Department of Military and Veterans Affairs.
