Michael George Glen Waltz is an American politician, businessman, author, and military officer who has served as the U.S. Representative for Florida's 6th congressional district since 2019. Born and raised in the United States, Waltz is a member of the Republican Party and is notably the first Green Beret to be elected to the U.S. Congress. He holds a Bachelor's degree in International Studies from the Virginia Military Institute. Beyond his legislative duties, Waltz has been actively involved in various roles, including serving as a Colonel in the U.S. Army Reserve, CEO at METIS Solutions, LLC, and as a Senior Fellow at the Foundation for Defense of Democracies. He is also a contributor at Fox News and an accomplished author.
