She furthered her education at the University of Kansas, receiving both a Bachelor's and a Master's degree in Nursing. Melissa achieved a Doctorate in Nursing Practice from the University of Missouri - Kansas City. Professionally, she has served as a Nurse Practitioner at a gastroenterology practice, applying her extensive medical knowledge to patient care. In her political career, she represents District 37 as a State Representative in the Kansas House of Representatives, advocating for healthcare and community issues.
